About 1 in 3 people suffer with chronic pain at some point in their lives.

Managing pain is not straight forward and involves a combination of psychical therapy, psychology and medical treatments.

One type of treatment for pain is injections for pain. There are four types of injection that we provide at GP Care:

Depending on the type of pain issue – myofascial (trigger point), joint (arthritic), migraine, carpal tunnel syndrome (nerve compression) or tennis elbow (repetitive strain injury) injections can be very helpful in reducing pain and speeding up recovery.

Steroid and hyaluronic acid are well established treatments while PRP is an emerging and very interesting new form of treatment. It involves using your own body’s natural anti-inflammatory chemicals to treat pain with less risk of adverse reaction.

Referrals can be made by to our Pain Clinic by doctors, physiotherapists and
 physical therapists.

It is important to remember that injections are not of help for everybody so it is important to discuss treatment with a doctor first and to understand that injections only form part of the treatment for chronic pain.
